Autoimmune Disease

Is a gut infection harming your thyroid?

I might be biased, but I think the best practitioners are those who have been sick themselves…

They know what it’s like to be in the trenches – and how it feels to be well again.

Dr. Izabella Wentz is one of those practitioners – she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, healed herself, and now helps others facing thyroid problems.

Today, she is sharing an article with us about one of the most overlooked causes of thyroid problems – underlying gut infections.

If you’re struggling with thyroid disease, please take this chance to learn from someone who has been where you are.

[Enter Izabella]

If you’ve been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition and told to consider your gut health, your first thought was probably, “What’s the gut got to do with it?”

That’s certainly the question I had when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis at age twenty-seven.

Sure, I could identify some of my symptoms as gut-derived—my irritable bowel syndrome had practically turned my bathroom at work into my second office. But how was this connected to the war being waged against the tiny, butterfly-shaped gland at the base of my neck?

What I soon found out was that the gut controls the immune system and most diseases of autoimmunity – like Hashimoto’s, MS, RA, and Graves’ – are linked to gut health in some way. [click to continue…]

celiac-disease-101

Celiac disease has many unspoken horrible truths…

One of them is this: It takes on average 4 years to get a Celiac disease diagnosis, and the research often shows that over 2 years later most patients are still not healed and typically suffering, even though they’re eating a strict gluten-free diet. This article is an attempt to change that, to give you your power back and actually help you get back to a healthy life.

This guide was written for you, the diagnosed Celiac disease sufferer, to explain what’s happening in your body, what this means for your future, and how you can heal from this disease.

It’s intended to fill in the gaps your doctor likely didn’t tell you (and beware… there’s so many it’s almost criminal).

I wrote this because Jordan Reasoner, my best friend, had to fight for 3 years to get a diagnosis, and afterwards all he received was a small package telling him to eat a gluten-free diet and he’d be okay.

But he wasn’t…

Two years after following the gluten-free diet with cult-like strictness… he was even closer to dying. It wasn’t working and the doctors threw up their hands and said:

“You’re obviously cheating on the diet and we can’t help you any more.”

Sadly, this is now the norm in our current medical system – undereducated and under-resourced doctors blaming and misinforming patients about what it actually takes to heal from Celiac disease and what the risks of this disease mean for your life.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Jordan’s healed and happy now, and we’ve since helped thousands of other Celiac disease victims who’ve gone through the same struggle – and helped them recover their health just like him.

But I’m still pissed off, so I’m writing this…

My goal is to help you avoid ongoing pain – to understand your health risks – and to learn how to return to a normal healthy life if you choose.

Spoiler Alert! Another horrible truth most people with Celiac disease discover too late: the gluten-free diet on its own isn’t enough to heal — more specifics on this later.

How to Use This Comprehensive Celiac Disease Guide

This guide is all-inclusive, which means this will take you about 15 minutes to read. And since I don’t know how educated you are, we’ve put together a table of contents so you can skip to the most important parts for you:

Imagine it’s the year 2050… and through a series of events, you’ve been put in charge of one of the most sophisticated defense systems in the universe…

A force like something we’ve never seen before – capable of immense offensive firepower, intricate defense networks, and even a self-destruction mode.

Some are calling it the most dangerous and powerful technology of its kind.

Many are scared of its ability to develop weapons for enemies that don’t even exist yet… adapting on the fly to discover its weak spot and destroy it, unleashing whatever firepower it takes.

This technology could be used for good and protect humans from unimaginable threats, insuring we survive for lifetimes…

Or it could fall into the wrong hands and be used for evil…

And no one will be able to stop it.

It’s up to you, what happens next. With that kind of power at your fingertips, what will you do?

Will you use this tool for the good of the human race?

Or will you make different choices… unleashing the power of this weapon for evil, and destroy everything in its path?

You’re in Charge of the Most Powerful Weapon in the Universe

This story isn’t fiction.

In fact, it’s way more real than you might know. The truth is you’re already in control of one of the most sophisticated weapons known to man.

It’s an adaptive technology unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

Its powerful ability to protect and kill is something we still don’t fully understand.

And the most chilling thing of all… it’s active inside your body right now.

This futuristic weapon is your immune system… and you’re already in control of it. During this article, I’m going to show you how this weapon works, so you can decide how to use it going forward. [click to continue…]

“Ewwww, does that mean my poop is leaking into my body?”

Only those of you dealing with chronic gut issues can appreciate a questions like that.

But it’s actually a question that came up for me when I first learned about leaky gut.

Back then I was struggling with chronic constipation and low energy, I was still trying to figure out my health and “Leaky Gut” sounded pretty darn weird to me.

Now, after years of studying it, that simplistic question isn’t far from the truth. Here is what concerns me most: leaky gut syndrome is a huge part of why autoimmune disease starts and if left unfixed can be part of why the symptoms keep getting worse.

So, then the question becomes how do we heal a leaky gut? We believe a pleiotropic approach is necessary, which means you must approach healing from several angles at once to actually flip the body back to health. This includes making dietary changes, adding supplements, reducing stressors and correcting underlying root causes of disease.

And when it comes to supplements, L-Glutamine is one of the most talked about for digestive health. At this point, the research is pretty clear on L-Glutamine being a very valuable supplement for anyone dealing with chronic health issues.

Whether it works to help fix your gut wall, helps you sleep better, helps you recover from exercise or helps reduce cravings, it’s a very safe, cheap and readily available supplement to think about trying.

I’ve used it on and off for over 15 years for various purposes, have watched it work in consulting clients and also seen it NOT work. I think there’s actually an art to using it and I’ve got some very simple do’s and don’ts that everyone should be aware of.   [click to continue…]

Family-Tree

When I had my first child, friends and family cooed , “Ohhh, he has your eyes!” or “Oh my gosh, he has his Mom’s smile!”

I’d smile… but inside I’d cringe. That voice in my head saying, “What if I gave him Celiac Disease? What if he’s going to die of a heart attack like every man in our family?”

See, right before my son was born, I found my Dad dead after a massive heart attack at the age of 52. My Grandpa had a heart attack at age 48 and died. My Uncle had a heart attack at 49 and died…

It doesn’t stop there, my Mom died from Celiac disease at 52 and that same condition just about killed me…

So while everyone is talking about his hair, all I can think is, “What if my son has an early death sentence because of the genetics I just gave him?”

At least that’s what we’ve been led to believe for the last 50 years…

“It runs in the family…”

“It” meaning (insert any death sentence here): heart disease, stroke, cancer, Alzheimer’s… you get the idea. And rightly so, my family tree shows this pattern.

So I began to ask the question: are we each born with a death sentence? Are we each going to die from our pre-determined genetics, no matter what?

We’ve all heard that saying about the weak link in the chain. It’s the weakest link that will fail first, and each of us has a “weak link” in our genes, inherited right from Mom and Dad. But how do these weak links break? Why is it that these weak links inside each of us keeps killing the ones we love… [click to continue…]
