Did you know approximately 1 out of 4 people walk around genetically predisposed to struggle with mold toxicity and most don’t even know it? Everyone in your family could be just fine but you might actually be reacting violently to toxins in your household. If you have tried changing your diet, adding supplements, and are still feeling lousy this podcast is for you. Read and listen on…
I was first introduced to Dr. Amy Myers at the 2013 Paleo f(X) Conference in Austin, TX. I had the pleasure of sitting in on her extremely informative talk. I’m planning to go again this year (more info here).
We recently spoke again back in October of 2013, and I was fortunate to be able to answer her questions about the SCD, my journey, poop and digestive problems on her show, The Myers Way Podcast. As exciting as that was for me, I’m absolutely pumped to talk about some important issues I’ve only recently been diving into: detoxification, toxins and molds.
On This Podcast, We Discuss:
1:50 How did Dr. Myers decide to specialize in Functional Medicine?
7:20 Dr. Myers’ experience with her own mold exposure
12:20 How to know if you are at risk for mold or mycotoxin problems?
16:15 Volatile compounds, mycotoxins, and thoughts on testing
22:13 Symptom patterns people can look for when concerned about mold exposure
25:05 How do digestion and detoxification play together?
26:45 Advanced steps to take for detox help (get the Acetyl-Glutathione here)
31:23 The Myers’ Way Diet and how it fits into all of this
36:50 How Dr. Myers tracks inflammation in her practice
40:22 Book, eBooks, eCourses and more at dramymyers.com
It’s more common than most want to admit for people to have issues with mold and it’s my hope that this podcast can help you and your loved ones.
Please share your experiences with mold exposure and/or mycotoxins in the comments section below.
Thank you so much Dr. Amy Myers for sharing some absolutely invaluable knowledge with all of us. Please check out her podcasts (especially Episode 5 for even more info on Mycotoxins) and the rest of her website here.
