Announcing: Chris Kresser’s Revolution Health Radio Show

by Jordan Reasoner

“No offense Doc, but it feels like you have no clue what’s wrong with me.”

That’s what I said when I fired my Doctor in 2008…

As a kid I was taught to trust in my Doctor… to feel safe with them.  I was taught that when I got sick they would always make me better.

But when I started having diarrhea 10 times a day in 2007 my Doctor started shrugging more…

… and ordering more tests that didn’t give any answers

Sending me to specialists that didn’t have any answers…

… and trying to give me steroids, anti-depressants, and bowel-relaxers.

That’s when I lost my childhood trust and fired my Doctor

And I didn’t feel very trusting of healthcare professionals for a long time after that… until I got introduced to Chris Kresser L.Ac.

Steve sent me one of his articles over a year ago and since then we’ve studied and learned everything we could from him.  He’s become somewhat of a mentor for us through his blog posts and podcasts.

Over time we’ve been fortunate to find more healthcare professionals in areas like Functional Medicine, Integrated Medicine, and Naturopathy that are exceptionally AWESOME… (like our friend Dr. Allison Siebecker)

But finding Chris and his work opened my eyes to a whole new world.

So when he announced he was looking for a new podcast show host, we jumped on it…

And we’re incredibly humbled, proud, and excited to announce that:

We’re the new host/producer of Chris Kresser’s Revolution Health Radio show!

Chris just posted the first episode and I highly recommend you check it out here:

–> Can Autoimmune Disease Be Prevented And Reversed?

This episode is packed with knowledge on autoimmune disease, leaky gut, and chronic stress.

I really think you’ll enjoy it 🙂

We’re looking forward to having fun together and learning more from him along the way

(Don’t worry, this won’t impact our regular Podcasts or blog posts – it’s just an enjoyable side project).

P.S. – If this is your first time here, here’s a little more about us…

We believe that everyone struggling with digestive problems needs:

Hi SCD-ers,
I certainly agree with Chris that the gut can be related to the autoimmune system.

If you have surfed over here from the SCD Lifestyle podcasts, and still want to adhere to strict SCD, please be aware that although the GAPS Diet is based on SCD, it allows items that Elaine restricted and are excluded from SCD .

I appreciate that Jordan and Steve are expanding areas of interest in the spirit of “Whatever Works.”

However, if you are considering a “custom diet” instead of SCD and have been following SCD, please learn about and understand differences among other diets similar to SCD and the real, original AUTHENTIC SCD created by Dr. S. V. Haas and elaborated upon by Elaine Gottschall.

GAPs does not fall under the SCD umbrella even if SCD falls under theirs. They are two DIFFERENT DIETS.

I am not criticizing GAPS, just pointing out that there are differences and those differences can be significant when dealing with a compromised gut.

My comments on SCD Lifestyle are simply an effort to continue my pledge to Elaine, I promised Elaine I would do my best to protect the integrity of SCD.

This is not meant to interfere with the choices everyone is free to make. Elaine acknowledged SCD may not be for everyone.

Just be well informed.

Chris and Jordan and Steve:
Why do I have concerns about confusing GAPS with SCD and suggesting they are not interchangeable?

Read the recipe which was posted from a GAPS member to an SCD support group.

http://realfoodforager.com/2011/12/recipe-grain-free-party-franks/

Now read the ingredients in the pastured franks and tell me if you think I am just a cranky purist.:

Ingredients

Pasture-Raised Beef, Water, Contains 2% or Less of the Following: Fresh Onion, Garlic, Mustard, Paprika, Celery Powder, Vinegar, Salt, Sugar, Extractives of Paprika, and Spice Extractives.
Allergens
Gluten Free

“SCD 11 years, IBS”

Don’t you think after trying something for 11 bloody years and still having saying you have IBS, that you need to try something else/something different? There is no bloody way after 11 years doing something and not being healed that I am going to claim some kind of expert knowledge saying what is and what is not something, because obviously time has proven I am NOT qualified to say what is or is not about anything related to it.
