3 Questions to Ask Yourself Before You Start the SCD Diet

Hand writing the answers to these questions is better than typing, but better yet leave your answers in the comment section below so you can return in 6 months and update them. 1: How healthy do I feel during an average day? Describe in detail your physical qualities including pains, annoyances and pleasures, then describe your mental state including emotions and energy levels. 2: Now pretend you are having an average day 6 months from now, would you like to change the description above?  If so write out your ideal average health day in 6 months. 3: Moment of truth, what do you think it’s going to take to get from how you feel now (question 1) to how you want to feel (Question 2)? If you don’t know, try making a list of any actions you are taking or are thinking about taking that could possibly result in your ideal average health day. 6 months from now do you want to feel the exact same way you did today? Albert Einstein is credited with the follow definition of insanity, “Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.” If you are ready to try something new to fix your health problems why not try the specific carbohydrate diet for 30 days?  What is the worst that could happen – you continue feeling like you did today?  What is the best that could happen? If you think the SCD might help and you want to get started right away go HERE to download a free guide that describes every step of the way! Back to SCD Lifestyle

Mexican Specific Carbohydrate Diet Recipe: Taco Salad

I’m not sure how everyone else feels but I miss Mexican food!  When I think of comfort foods Mexican is high on my list and with the weekend approaching there is no better time than now.  Of course I don’t miss a horrible stomach ache, multiple trips to the bathroom and paint eating acid reflux that traditional Mexican caused me but I do miss the flavor and experience. In the spirit to be adventures I decided to scratch my itch for some Mexican inspired food.  In the past, after multiple successes eating lettuce burgers I tried making tacos using romaine hearts but usually end with more food on my shirt then in my mouth.  So this time I did some internet searching for Mexican recipes that I thought could be made SCD style.  There were many that could have been done with some prep work and baking but my laziness got the best of me.  Instead I opted for quick and dirty Mexican meal that I shall call a taco salad. SCD Legal Taco Salad: 1 lb of ground beef browned Roman hearts chopped Chopped fresh onion Chopped fresh tomatoes Banana peppers Jalapenos peppers Fermented salsa First brown up your beef, to stay Mexican themed I used plenty of cumin, black pepper and red pepper flakes for seasoning.  Next chop up your romaine hearts into ¼ inch wide strips, pile the strips on your plate.  Add more foods according to your flavor buds, but I topped mine with ½ pound of the beef, a couple handfuls of chopped onion and tomato and then threw on the banana and Jalapenos peppers.  Lastly, instead of toping it [...]
